Higher abrasion resistance was also the key point of our battery pasting belts through out of its development, and has much higher then other cotton battery-pasting belts, since it include special chemical, which provide longer lifetime of the product. To achieve higher abrasion resistance, the belt is made stiffer at the beginning, and should be wet before and during the application. The hardness of the belt provides higher resistance of the belt. This consequently enables the smaller consumption of the paste, which actually reduces the cost of the production of our customers. Our battery pasting belts stands normally around 1.000.000 plates per belt without any problem and enables the change of the plates with different size on the same belt during the use. Some of our customers are using it also above 1.000.000 plates per belt, which we normally warn against, since with the lost paste the client could loose more money than the cost of the belt itself. In case of using the belt above 1.000.000 plates per belt, each percent of higher consumption of the paste means such a difference in the use (and also the cost) of the paste that is better to exchange the belt. From our experiences, and the experiences of our customers, the lifetime of our truly endless battery pasting belt YRM 460 is longer then the other cotton battery pasting belts. The reason is that before they were exchanging the belts every day, now (with YRM 460) they are exchanging once per every one or two week, depending on the customer.
